The Annual General Meeting of the Achilles International Track and Field Society (AITFS) was held on November 29, 2021 to make plans for the 2022 projects and to elect the new Board of Directors. The non-profit, volunteer society was formed in 1964 to promote the sport of athletics by organizing competitions in Metro Vancouver. Over these 58 years, this has included the founding of the Vancouver Sun Run, the Harry Jerome International Track Classic at Swangard Stadium, the Jerome Indoor Games at the Richmond Olympic Oval and the RainForest Trail Run at Central Park. Over $10 million in today's dollars has been raised for the sport of athletics over the past half century from both the private sector and governmental sources. The Vancouver Sun Run has played a central role in inclusion of physical activity in life style of millions of British Columbians promoting a preventive strategy in our health.

The 2022 season for the AITFS will feature

1. The 2022 Jerome Indoor Games on February 5th at the Richmond Olympic Oval
2. The 2022 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome International Track Classic on June 14th at Swangard stadium
3. The 2022 Rainforest Trail Run at Central Park in late September
