It all came together for Langley's Georgia Ellenwood at the Big 10 Championships in Bloomington, IN this weekend as she delivered her best ever performances in the 2 day, 7 event challenge of the heptathlon. She scored 6173 points for a personal best and the leading score in Canada besting the silver medal performance of New Westminster's Nina Schultz 6133 points at the Commonwealth Games last month in Australia.
Georgia's marks were 100m hurdles-13.76*, high jump 1.78m, 12.69m*- shot put, 24.21*- 200m on Friday. Today 6.11m- long jump, 45.94m*- javelin, 2:16.37*- 800m. She set personal bests* in 5 of the seven events. This performance comes after a injury plagued 2017 outdoor season.
Representing Wisconsin, she has the NCAA championship in June were she and Nina Schultz, a student at Kansas State may meet to fight for the podium. It is hoped that both Nina Schultz and Georgia Ellenwood will accept the invitation to participate in the Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track in the events of their choice on June 26 and 27 at Swangard Stadium.
