The 35th Annual Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome International Track Classic is set for June 26 and 27 at the new track surface on Swangard Stadium. This event will feature a unique innovation, a 8 event dual meet with China's and Canada's national sprint teams. The winner of this Team Sprint Challenge of the fastest men and women in China and Canada will be awarded the Pacific World Cup.
The governing bodies from China and Canada, the CAA in Beijing and Athletics Canada in Ottawa have announced their 10 men and 10 women teams . This total of 40 athletes will contest the 100m, 400m plus the 4x100m and 4x400m relays over 2 days in conjunction with the normal Jerome events.
Tickets were sold out almost a month in advance of last year's Jerome. It is advised that tickets should be bought soon, as many expect another sellout with the addition of the exciting dual meet concept. Organizers are encouraging fans to wear the colours of their favourite team and wave their flags in support.
