Crystal Emmanuel of East York, ON demolished the Canadian 200m record set by Marita Payne of 22.62(0.8) in Edmonton in 1983. The Canadian champion and Rio Olympic semifinalist in the 200m ran 22.50(0.0) in Cork, Ireland today in cool and gusty conditions to break the 34-year-old record. Earlier Crystal won the silver medal in the 100m in 11.32(-1.0).
Sheila Reid of New Market, ON won the 3000m in the same Cork City Games in a seasonal best of 8:54.60 with Rachel Cliff of Vancouver, BC close behind in a personal best of 8:57.15. Erica Digby of Vancouver, BC set her PB of 9:09.59 as well.
Luc Bruchet of South Surrey, BC set a seasonal best of 13:36.62 in the 5000m on July 12th a the Morton Games, Santry Dublin while Jessica Smith of North Vancouver also record her seasonal best of 4:16.88 in the 1500m
In Ninove, Belgium, Cole Peterson of Edmonton, AB ran personal best of 3:40.64 with Thomas Riva of Victoria, BC running a seasonal best of 3:40.22
