Prince George's Olympian, Alyx Treasure took the silver medal at the Huelva Meeting Iberoamericano de Atletismo in Spain on June 14 with a jump of 1.87m behind Iryna GERASHCHENKO of the Ukraine.
The Kansas State graduate will be high jumping before a sold out crowd at the Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic on June 28th at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam. She will be seeking a clearance of 1.94m which is the qualifying height for the IAAF World Championships in London's Olympic Stadium on August 4th-13th. Alyx cleared this height in Rio last summer and she is looking for support from the fans. Her event starts at 6:38pm and the doors open at 5:30pm. Fans with general admission tickets are urged to arrive at 5:30pm as seating is first come first serve. There will be plenty of room around the high jump area in the south-east corner of Percy Perry Stadium to offer cheers of support to Canada's premier high jumper.
