Australian sprinter, Ella Nelson will provide strong competition in the sprints for Canadian, Shai-Anne Davis on June 28th at the 34th Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic set for Percy Perry Stadium, at Coquitlam Town Center.
Shai-Anne gained national recognition as a teenage sprinter from Richmond, BC. She has a bronze medal at the Francophone Games and was a member of Canada's 4x100m team at the World Championships in Moscow. She won the 200m at the 2016 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic. Shai-Anne has personal bests of 11.33 and 23.12 in the 100m and 200m.
2016 Rio Olympian, Ella Nelson will be a formidable opponent for Shai-Anne Davis. Ella is the 4 time Australian Champion over 200m. She was 10th in the 200m in Rio with a personal best of 22.50. She has a best of 11.42 in the 100m. We may expect that the photo finish timer may be needed to determine the winner of the sprints on the fast Mondo track at Percy Perry Stadium.
Both of these sprinters represented their countries at the World Relay Championships in Nassau, Bahamas this spring and are clearly hoping for selection to their national teams headed to the World Championships in London this August.
Ella and Shai-Anne will join a strong field at the Jerome Track Classic which includes, Melissa Bishop, Sasha Gollish, Damian Warner and Andre De Grasse.
It is possible that all tickets will be sold before the day of the meet.
