Liz Gleadle is the first confirmed athlete for the 2016 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic which is set for Friday evening June 17th as the first meet in the National Track League season.
The Jerome Classic now in it’s 33rd year will be the kick off on the Road to Rio as Canadian athletes prepare for the Olympic year. All athletes will want to have the Olympic Standard Performance achieved before the Canadian Olympic Trials in Edmonton July 7th to 10th . The Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic is a qualifying meet to achieve those standards.
Liz will open her competitive season in Doha, Qatar on Friday May 6th. Further information on Liz at her site

Men: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m National, 800m, 1500m National, 1500m, 3000m Steeplechase, 5000m Race Walk, High Jump, Javelin, 4x100m relay
Women: 100m, 200m 400m, 800m National, 800m, 1500m National, 1500m, 100m Hurdles, 3000m Steeplechase, High Jump, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin

Events get under way at Swangard Stadium with the record attempt at the Canadian record in the 5000m race walk at 6:00pm with opening ceremonies set for 7:25pm. Further information at Jerome website
