Dylan Armstong officially received his 2008 Beijing Olympic Bronze Medal in February this year in his hometown of Kamloops. Monday at the Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic, Dylan will be recognized by the Achilles Track and Field Society and Suzanne Anton, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of British Columbia for his continued accomplishments in his sport in this province. Dylan's medal is the first ever won by a Canadian in the shot put in the history of the Olympic Games. The ceremony will take place at 7:38pm at Swangard Stadium. British Columbia's Olympic medalists, Lynn Kanuka, 1984 bronze medal in 3000m and Robert Esmie, 1996 gold medal in 400m relay will be part of the official party along with Peter Eriksson, head coach of Athletics Canada, Patricia Wu of the Vancouver Sun.
Dylan had extensive reconstructive surgery to his right elbow during the winter and is in full rehabilitative training now with the potential to be in competitive position for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
