Liz Gleadle of Vancouver broke her own Canadian record today in Kawasaki, Japan at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix even. Her throw of 64.83m edged her Canadian record by 33cm set in 2014. The University of British Columbia graduate will compete at the 32nd Annual Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic on Monday June 8 where she will solidify her selection to Team Canada which will compete at the Pan American Games. The Jerome Classic will feature over 200 athletes from over 12 countries and will be qualifying meet for both the World Championships in Beijing and the Pan American Games in Toronto.
Sultana Frizell of Perth, ON who trains in Kamloops was third in the hammer throw with a season's best of 73.66m just short 2.03m of her own Canadian record. Both Liz and Sultana will compete in China next weekend.
