Cam Levins of Black Creek, BC proved he was an “Iron Man” in New York at the Amory Track Invitational. He succeeded at a seemingly impossible task of first winning the mile in a near Canadian record of 3:54.74. Nate Brannen holds the current record at 3:54.22. Cam came back and 32 minutes later won the 2 mile in 8:15.38. Both these times lead the world in this 2015 indoor season. His two mile is equivalent at the shorter 3000m to 7:36.96 which would if timed exceed the current Canadian record of 7:40.17 set in 2007 by Kevin Sullivan.
Cam is a graduate of Southern Utah University when he won the Bowerman Award as the outstanding collegian in track and field in 2012. He now trains with Alberto Salazar in Portland, Oregon. He won the bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the 10,000m.
