As we enter the month of May, the 2016 track and field season is gaining momentum on the Road to Rio. No less than 8 Canadians confirmed their Olympic Standards for the Olympic Games in August, less than 100 days away.
Aaron Brown of Toronto, ON demonstrated amazing progression as he recorded his best ever in the 200m with 20.00(1.1) seconds for the number 3 spot on the 2016 world list. He also recorded a windy 9.95(3.1) in the 100m.
Brandon McBride ofWindsor, ON now a senior at Mississippi State, ran the fastest time in the world in this early season with personal best of 1:44.63 ahead of the Olympic standard of 1:46.00.
