About The Event - 2008

The 2008 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome International Track Classic will mark the 25th anniversary of the meet being named in honour of great Canadian sprinter Harry Jerome, Olympic bronze medallist and world record holder. The 2008 meet also serves as an important stop on the road to Beijing as Canadian and international competitors seek to attain qualifying standards for the 2008 Olympic Summer Games in Beijing, China. This year's meet also celebrates the potential and enthusiasm of youth with a series of elementary school relays.

The annual Jerome meet is organized by the Achilles International Track and Field Society, a group of athletes, coaches and athletics enthusiasts dedicated to providing competitive opportunities for Canadian track and field athletes.
